    Problems associated with the Iphone

I've heard a lot lately about all the problems associated with the Iphone, the features really seem amazing, but I can't imagine making the purchase with all these issues surrounding the phone, one being the outrageous price.

    I think that is outrageous.

Re: Problems associated with the Iphone

I think the iPhone has serious competion from HTC, who are constatntly bringing out competitive alternatives to the iPhone. The main problem with the iPhone is the touch screen keyboard, apparently (unless you have very small fingers) the keyboard is difficult to use and, even with auto correcting software, it can be frustrating to text and email.

HTC Devices and alike that still have button keypads are far more user friendly.

I think all the phones eventually have some type of problems. You can't really say that you have seen a phone that didn't have problems what so ever.

Mostly I've heard that the audio can be sketchy or buzzy.  Personally, I would love to have an Iphone, even at $500, but I'll wait til they fix some of the bugs first.

I expect Apple will continually release software updates with bug fixes/new functionality. However, you would hope that for that kind of money, the number of bugs is limited Surprise

I do admire Apple for doing things first. OK, the cellular phone is hardly new, but the interface, finger action recognition technology, etc. They do have a certain 'coolness' about their designs that I find very attractive.
But no, I won't be forking out that much cash for one! I'll stick with my trusty Sony Ericsson for the time being!

The fact that it is brand new will keep me away from it for a while, that and the high price.

Re: Problems associated with the Iphone

It has only been out for a short time, I keep watching the tech sites, and news to see what kind of glitches it's going to have. I have heard they have already had to put out a software patch for it.

Re: Problems associated with the Iphone

I had the I-phone and here is what I thought:

The design can't really be knocked. As a mobile itunes store it was the coolest feature about it.I could hear a song on the radio or remember an old favorite and I could instantly purchase the song or album (providing I was in range of a wi fi signal).

It has google maps (although this can be downloaded to almost any pocket PC device).

The worst thing about it was the................................phone itself!!!

That's right. The loudspeaker for a start has to be of the lowest quality build. The volume is too damn low to hear it. Talking to someone via the loudspeaker is useless while driving.

Listening to music through the speaker was of the lowest quality. distorted, crackling, you name it...

There is no A2DP bluetooth profile. so I can't even bluetooth picture files to another phone, printer etc. No file sharing???!!! Come on Apple.

    No 3G

The bonus thing about it?  I now use my I-Phone sim in my pocket PC (as this has an unlimited data plan, I can surf the web etc as long as I want)!
